3 RATIFIED · 3 WAITING
GLOSSARY DECISION — A RATIFIED TERM BINDS THE ROOM
3 candidates waiting. Ratify one and every future rendering must use it; the Terminologist reports each deviation as HIGH.
CANDIDATES — PROPOSED, BINDING NOBODY
Demir→DemirNAME· tx-terminologist
The father's surname. Kept in Turkish spelling; the patronymic becomes an English possessive.
ağ→netTERM· tx-terminologist
Fishing net. Recurs in both chapters; fix it before it drifts to "mesh".
kahve→the coffee housePLACE· tx-editor
The village kahve. "Café" imports the wrong furniture; "coffee house" keeps it male, small and permanent.
RATIFIED — THESE BIND THE ROOM
iskele→jettyPLACE· tx-editor
The harbour structure the book keeps returning to. Not "pier", not "quay" — the ratified form fixes it.
sular çekilince→when the waters draw backIDIOM· tx-editor
The title and the book's refrain. Identical wherever it appears.
liman→harbourPLACE
British spelling throughout, per the charter's punctuation and register rulings.
DRIFT ACROSS CHAPTERS
ONE CALL · THE CLERK READS ACROSS CHAPTERS FOR RENDERINGS THAT CHANGED
∞The Continuity ClerkHIGH
"iskele" is rendered "pier" in CH02.001, against the ratified "jetty" used in CH01.001 and CH01.007.
The jetty is the book's fixed point — the narrator stands on it as a child and again forty years later. Two names make it two places.
Use "jetty" in CH02.001. The term is ratified; the Drafter should not have varied it.
